- Limit stain-causers – Limit the amount of coffee, tea, dark sodas, red wine, berries, and other dark or highly-pigmented foods and drinks that you consume. You can also consume drinks through a straw to limit the amount of contact they have with your smile.
- Rinse – After you have a cup of coffee or any other stain-causing foods or drinks, rinse your mouth out with water. This will keep the food or drink from sitting on your teeth for long periods.
- Avoid tobacco – Cigarettes and other tobacco products are notorious for staining teeth. Cut the use of these products out of your life to keep your smile looking brighter for longer.
- Practice good dental hygiene – Even if you don’t have veneers, good oral hygiene is key to keeping your smile healthy. Brush for two minutes in the morning and after dinner with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. You should also floss at least once per day, preferably after your last meal or before bed.
