Have you recently scheduled your first appointment with Dr. Karen Ho? Before arriving in person, our team asks that new patients review the following information so that they know what to expect and what will be expected of them when they arrive. Your First Visit
In general, patients should plan to send around one and a half hours at their first appointment. After confirming that all of the necessary forms are complete, you’ll be escorted back to the treatment chair for X-rays. Then, Dr. Ho comes in and sits down with you for a new patient interview. She wants to hear all about any complaints you may have about your current smile, goals you have for your future oral wellbeing, and your opinions of previous dental care experiences at other practices, such as what you liked and what you didn’t like. She’d also like to learn more about your oral hygiene habits at home so that she can offer advice and guidance on how to improve them.
From there, it will be time for a comprehensive examination that includes soft tissue screenings, oral cancer screenings, a TMJ evaluation, hard tissue review, and more. Intraoral photos, gum readings, and X-rays will also be shared on an overhead TV screen so that we can discuss any findings very clearly. The final steps will be to discuss a personalized treatment plan and take care of scheduling needs for future appointments (if needed), as well as any insurance/pay-related questions.
Dental Insurance
Navigating dental insurance can feel like a big headache at times, but it doesn’t have to be here in Campbell! Our talented financial coordinator Kathy know all the in’s and out’s of this age-old system like the back of her hand, and she’ll be happy to help make the process as simple as possible. Dr. Ho is in-network with Delta Dental Premier, and we’re also happy to work with most major PPO providers by filling claims and maximizing reimbursements. If you ever have any questions or general confusion regarding your deserved benefits, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Dental Financing
If you don’t currently have dental insurance coverage, that doesn’t mean much-needed treatment plans have to stay financially out of reach. Dr. Ho’s team is happy to work with CareCredit, which offers third-party financing that’s affordable, flexible, and able to blend in well with a wide variety of different budgets.
